Sony has announced that it has delayed the launch of its still-unnamed motion controller for the PS3 until Fall of this year. Sony CEO Kaz Hirai mentioned the ship date was delayed mostly to allow developers to create more titles that involved motion control.

"We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users," Hirai said.

"We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with. We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expand and define the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home".

On the plus side, Sony should be able to come out with a solid group of launch titles in conjunction with their motion controller. Heck, they might even have a name by then, too. On the downside, this means the motion controller will likely release alongside Microsoft's much-publicized controller-free motion tracker for the Xbox 360, Project Natal.

Both companies will be fighting for media mentions and customers' hearts come Holiday season 2010. And naturally, many of those mentions will be published here, on Gamers Verse.
