EA has officially confirmed the development of Dead Space 2 -- the sequel to the acclaimed survival-horror game from 2008. The game will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. No release date has yet been announced, though more details about the release are expected in the coming months.
Visceral Studios, a studio under the umbrella of EA, is developing the game. Visceral developed the original Dead Space, as well as the Wii rail-shooter from the same universe, Dead Space: Extraction. The studio is also releasing Dante's Inferno at the beginning of next year.
"We're thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapter in Isaac's journey," said Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis. "The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it," he carried on, "There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you."

I CANNOT FREAKING WAIT! Dead Space has to be my favorite game of 2008, so I'm freaking stoked for a sequel. Still need to play some of Dead Space: Extraction.
